Bradford Cox’s solo project returns to the stage Sunday in Philadelphia, while Deerhunter remains on hold.
Atlas Sound will perform at Making Time ∞ in Philadelphia on Sunday, marking the first scheduled show from any Bradford Cox project since 2019. The performance is set for 4:30 p.m. at Fort Mifflin, where the festival runs from Sept. 18 to 20.
Cox has kept a low public profile in recent years. Aside from a brief, apparently spontaneous noise jam in 2023, this Atlas Sound slot is his first live appearance in that stretch. No Deerhunter reunion has been announced, and there is no word on whether any collaborators will join the set.
The rest of the lineup favors electronic and experimental acts, including Dopplereffekt, Octo Octa b2b Eris Drew, Avalon Emerson & The Charm, Loidis, and a live pairing of Mary Lattimore and Jeff Parker. Rombo’s Crossing Wires column covered last year’s edition of the festival.
