Judeline Didn’t See Karol G’s “BbY WoW” Becoming a Global Hit

Karol G’s smooth club track “BbY WoW” has become a global leader, reaching No. 1 on both Spotify and the Billboard Global 200. It has collected 78 million Spotify streams and 37 million YouTube views. Behind the song are two Spanish artists Karol brought in early: producer-artist Rusowsky and singer-songwriter Judeline, who co-wrote the track and three others on the album No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto, including “Matadora,” “Te Llevas To,” and “Final Feliz.”

Judeline did not anticipate the scale. “I didn’t expect it at all,” she told Rolling Stone from Spain. “I knew it was going to go well because obviously, the exposure Karol has is huge. But I think what’s really lovely is that no one knows what song is going to connect most with people, so we’ve been celebrating.”

For Judeline, the collaboration felt personal. She and Rusowsky have known each other since she arrived in Madrid, and she links their rise to fellow Spanish artist Ralphie Choo. “Being on this song with Rusowsky makes me a thousand times happier than if I were on it alone,” she said.

Her writing sessions with Karol G were similarly unforced. Judeline had mostly stepped away from writing for others, but Karol’s openness changed that. “She gave me such good energy, and I also felt like I had space to contribute something,” Judeline said. “I felt really comfortable being with her.”
