Oprah Winfrey will stage a two-hour production called “AHA” at Sphere in April, with performances from Jacob Collier, Ajeet, and Wintley Phipps, and musical direction from Max Richter and Jon Hopkins.
Oprah Winfrey will take over Sphere for a three-day run April 2–4 with a production that sits between live performance and something closer to a produced wellness presentation. Announced as “Oprah Winfrey’s AHA,” the two-hour event is described in official materials as “a brand-new visual, musically immersive symphony of senses.” Winfrey will be on stage throughout.
The show is not being billed as a concert, but the musical assembly is considerable. Jacob Collier, new age folk musician Ajeet, and gospel singer Wintley Phipps are set to perform, alongside poet and author Ocean Vuong. Musical direction comes from ambient composers Max Richter and Jon Hopkins, working with Sunday Service Choir master Jason White. Tarell Alvin McCraney, the screenwriter behind Moonlight, contributes writing, and artist Es Devlin is creating original works for the space.
That combination of spiritual programming and high-end production fits where Sphere has been drifting since U2 opened the venue in 2023. Bookings have swung from Dead & Company and Eagles to EDM sets, Backstreet Boys, and an AI-heavy Wizard of Oz. Winfrey has said the idea came to her while attending U2’s opening night, and that the project is tied to themes she has discussed throughout her career. Tickets start at $145.
