Amy Winehouse’s ‘Back to Black’ Returns to the Stage for One Night at the Roundhouse

The 20th anniversary of Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black will be marked not only by an expanded reissue, but by a live restaging. On October 21, the Amy Winehouse Band will perform the 2006 album in full at London’s Roundhouse, with original producers Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi working alongside musical director Dale Davis.

Ronson and Remi selected the evening’s vocalists: Baby Rose, Corinne Bailey Rae, FLO, Jessie Reyez, Jorja Smith, Lianne La Havas, Nia Smith, Sasha Keable, Skye Newman, and Yebba. Each will take on material from a record that moved Winehouse from critically respected songwriter to a much larger cultural presence.

“Doing justice to the legacy of Back to Black is the order of the night,” Ronson said. Remi added that he was eager to hear what the singers bring to “these songs we know and love.”

The concert lands days before the album’s official anniversary and follows an expanded set due October 23 through UMR/Island, with demos, B-sides, and a 2007 Paradiso performance. BBC Radio 2 will air the Roundhouse show on October 26. Artist presale access runs through Winehouse’s official store until noon BST on September 28; general sale begins October 1.
