Ben Quad’s newest single arrives on Pure Noise Records with an official video, timed to land just before the band’s Wisher Tour opens in Manchester.
Ben Quad have released a new single, “I Only Let You Down Now”, on Pure Noise Records, paired with an official video. The timing is deliberate. The band’s Wisher Tour starts in Manchester, and the song lands in the narrow window between announcement and first night.
A single released this close to a tour does two jobs at once. It functions as a standalone track for the people already listening, and as a live prospect for the rooms the band is about to walk into. Pure Noise has spent years building a catalog around guitar music that sits somewhere between punk and emo, and Ben Quad are part of that roster rather than adjacent to it. The label’s audience arrives with certain expectations about loudness, dynamics, and how much space a chorus is allowed to take up.
The UK run is the more interesting half of the story. American bands in this register often find the British circuit operates on different terms: smaller capacities, tighter routing, crowds that turn up on time and know the words to songs that never charted. Manchester as an opening city is a statement about where the band expects to be heard, not just where it happens to be booked.
“I Only Let You Down Now” will be measured less by its streaming numbers than by how it lands in those first few rooms. That is where a new song stops being a release and becomes part of a set.
