clipping to stage ‘Splendor & Misery’ festival in New York

The experimental hip-hop group will headline a day-long event at Knockdown Center this August, featuring SPELLLING, Shabazz Palaces, and Elucid.

clipping will mark a decade since their second album with a dedicated festival in New York this summer. The group will headline Splendor & Misery Fest at Knockdown Center on August 13, taking over both of the venue’s stages.

The lineup foregrounds artists aligned with clipping’s avant-garde sensibilities. It includes SPELLLING, Shabazz Palaces, and Elucid of Armand Hammer, alongside performances from Evicshen, Maria Chavez, and Fatboi Sharif. More acts are expected to be announced.

The event centers on 2016’s ‘Splendor & Misery,’ a conceptual rap album set in deep space that solidified the group’s reputation for ambitious, noise-adjacent production. The festival precedes other North American tour dates for clipping, including shows with Open Mike Eagle in early August and their first run of concerts in Australia this June.
