Curbside Lambsear Announce Debut EP, Share “No Ordinary Word”

Curbside Lambsear, the project of Magdalena McLean (caroline) and Annabelle Mödlinger (the Umlauts), has announced their debut EP. Put Rings On All My Fingers To Weigh Down My Hands arrives September 11 via Scenic Route, previewed today with the track “No Ordinary Word.”

“Man The Door,” the duo’s first single from last month, sketched a sound grounded in stark folk textures, sudden noise, and unhurried melody. “No Ordinary Word” extends that logic — looping guitar motifs spiral around a vocal that tightens with each pass, pushing the song deeper into repetition rather than release. The effect is hypnotic but never ingratiating, a careful balance that carries over into the EP’s broader intent.

McLean and Mödlinger describe the recordings as the outcome of shared experimentation: “All the noise and melodies we came to be in agreement about, all that emerged while testing and probing what felt right,” they said in a statement. “Like the hands in the EP title, extremely adorned, weighing down on the keys of a keyboard, these songs are precious to us.”

The five-track EP also includes “Jjochstubn,” “Avril,” and “Uneasy,” with “Man The Door” closing the tracklist. A lengthy tour begins in August, moving through the UK, Europe, and Scandinavia, with stops at Green Man Festival, Ekko Fest, and a string of club dates through November.
