Jack Black and Jack White appear together in promotional clips for this weekend's episode of Saturday Night Live. Black is set to host the show, with White serving as the musical guest.
The brief promos, released by NBC, lean heavily on the coincidence of their shared first name. The jokes are straightforward, playing on the simple premise of two famous Jacks sharing a stage. The tone is light and the delivery is characteristically energetic from Black, while White offers a more subdued counterpoint.
The pairing marks a rare convergence of comedy rock and garage rock revivalist styles on the long running sketch show. White's appearance follows the release of his recent album, 'Fear Of The Dawn'. Black's hosting stint coincides with a continued wave of popularity for his band Tenacious D and his voice acting roles.
The episode airs live on NBC this Saturday night.
