Jam City Details New Album ‘My World’

Jack Latham’s work as Jam City has always moved between club functionality and conceptual frame. His next album, My World, pulls the lens inward. It arrives September 23 via Mad Decent, marking his first release on the label.

The title track is out now, a queasy R&B cut that carries vocals from Aidan, Bawo, and Ox Eye. A dub mix stretches the piece past ten minutes, drifting further from the song’s center. That push-pull between structure and dissolution runs through the tracklist: songs like “Pure Vice” and “Trippin” lean on guest voices—Solv, Luna Avelar, Gianna—while interludes (“Cash Fast”) break the sequence.

Latham describes the album as a deliberate narrowing. “I just went deeper and deeper into my own world on this album, and ended up with the most ‘me’ thing I’ve ever made,” he said. The statement fits a producer who has never chased a signature sound so much as followed a restless logic. On My World, that logic turns personal, building a small, repeatable language out of humid R&B melodies and submerged rhythms.

The album follows 2023’s Jam City Presents EFM, a release that collected tracks under a loose, radio-like conceit. Here, the framing is more contained. A club mix of the title track exists, but Latham’s attention seems fixed on the album form. In an Instagram note, he called it “probably the best thing I’ve ever done.” It’s a plainspoken claim, and the tracklist—concise at nine songs—suggests a producer editing himself toward clarity.
