John Glacier Adopts a New Guise on ‘Bond Girl’

John Glacier has returned with ‘Bond Girl’, her first single of 2026. The track moves at a different pace than much of last year’s debut album, Like A Ribbon. Production duo Take A Daytrip shape a club-skewed beat that pulls from Detroit techno — clipped, propulsive, and cold — while Glacier stays unhurried, delivering lines with the same half-spoken nonchalance that defined her earlier work. The result is less a departure than a sharpening of contrast: rapid-fire programming undercut by an almost deadpan vocal.

The accompanying video, directed by Lea Ceheivi, casts Glacier as a secret agent, navigating surveillance and threat with a renegade logic. It extends the single’s sense of controlled detachment. ‘Bond Girl’ arrives after Like A Ribbon, a record that stitched together electronic, post-punk, ambient, and underground rap, rooted in her East London background. Where that album stretched across textures, this single narrows the focus to a single, tense groove — and leaves the rest to implication.
