Justin Bieber Shifts Strategy for Second Coachella Appearance

Following a minimalist and divisive first-weekend set, Bieber’s return featured a series of high-profile guest performers.

Justin Bieber’s second Coachella headline slot presented a stark contrast to his first. He replaced the much-discussed laptop setup from weekend one with a parade of guest artists for weekend two.

The performance yesterday featured appearances from Billie Eilish, SZA, Sexyy Red, Big Sean, and Dijon. With them, Bieber moved away from the solitary, meta presentation that had polarized audiences just days before.

One notable moment was the live debut of “Sweet Spot,” his collaboration with Sexyy Red. He also performed “One Less Lonely Girl” for the first time since 2020. The set recalibrated the focus from a statement on performance itself back to a more conventional, crowd-pleasing spectacle.
