Mateo Sujatovich returns to solo touring with Conociendo Rusia presenta Mateo, stripping back hits after a year of full-band dates and an impromptu Madrid show.
The Grammy-winning Argentine musician Mateo Sujatovich is preparing a run of solo shows under the name Conociendo Rusia presenta Mateo. The dates will replace his usual full-band arrangements with stripped-down versions of songs he has built into a regional following.
The shift is not new. Sujatovich already played more than 20 cities in a solo format in 2023, and he describes repetition as the thing he avoids most. “I already went everywhere with the band last year. What am I going to do this year? The same thing again? Nah, let’s do something different,” he said.
That same impulse surfaced in Madrid in June 2024, when he floated an impromptu performance in Parque del Retiro on social media. Around 400 people showed up despite no official show that night, months before his Spanish tour began.
