Swedish artist Murex made an immediate impression earlier this year with ‘Massacre’, her debut on the influential London label Young. Murex is a 360-degree talent: producer, songwriter, and visual artist who directs her own videos. That exacting control carries into her studio work. “It felt so desperate, this need to let go of obsession and control and present something new,” she says. “It had to be screamed out.” The track arrives via Young alongside a self-made visualiser, reinforcing the sense that every element belongs to the same unfiltered expression. “Screaming into the void wouldn’t feel the same with words,” she adds.
