Murex Channels Rage and Anxiety on New Single ‘Hardness Of A Silverspoon’

The Swedish producer and visual artist returns to Young with a vivid electronic track that confronts darker emotions head-on.

Swedish artist Murex made an immediate impression earlier this year with ‘Massacre’, her debut on the influential London label Young. She now returns with a new single that shifts into more turbulent emotional territory. ‘Hardness Of A Silverspoon’ is a vivid piece of electronic production, channeling anger, rage, and anxiety into a tightly controlled but emotionally overwhelming track.

Murex is a 360-degree talent: producer, songwriter, and visual artist who directs her own videos. That exacting control carries into her studio work. “It felt so desperate, this need to let go of obsession and control and present something new,” she says. “It had to be screamed out.” The track arrives via Young alongside a self-made visualiser, reinforcing the sense that every element belongs to the same unfiltered expression. “Screaming into the void wouldn’t feel the same with words,” she adds.

The single doesn’t announce a radical departure, but it does reveal an artist pushing past the shock tactics of her debut toward something rawer. For an artist who handles every aspect of her output, that kind of urgency carries weight.
