Starting August 10th, ‘Lost Weekend’ will be heard for the first time in full-dome listening sessions across more than 40 cities.
Phoebe Bridgers is taking an unlikely route for the first public hearing of her third solo album. Lost Weekend won’t arrive on streaming services; instead, from August 10th, the record will play in full inside planetariums in over 40 cities worldwide.
The dome-show premieres reframe the album as a spatial event, using hemispherical projections and immersive sound systems to shape the listener’s first encounter. No live performance, no interview — just the music in a dark, domed room. It’s a move that treats the album as a complete, contained experience rather than a collection of pre-release singles.
Bridgers has not shared a tracklist or a conventional release date, leaving the planetarium sessions as the sole announced gateway to the material. Tickets are expected to be limited, and the multi-city rollout suggests a carefully plotted international arc, not a one-off promotional stunt.
The approach echoes past experiments in spatial listening — from The Flaming Lips’ Zaireeka parties to Björk’s installations — but Bridgers’ version is notably stripped back. The emphasis stays on the record itself, mediated only by the architecture of the dome.
