Russian Circles have shared the first track from their upcoming album, Nine. The single, “Eluvial,” arrives with no vocal or lyrical frame — just the patient, tectonic weight the Chicago trio has spent two decades refining.
The song’s title points to loose geological deposits, a fitting image for music that builds from accumulations of guitar, bass, and drums into something monolithic. There’s no dramatic pivot here, only a band working at its own tempo, layering clean arpeggios under distortion until the piece finds its pressure point.
Nine is the group’s first full-length since 2019’s Blood Year, and it lands August 28 via Sargent House. In an era of constant content, Russian Circles still operate on a quieter cycle — one shaped by record cycles, not streams. “Eluvial” suggests the wait has been as deliberate as the music itself.
