S.O.H. and Abizmo Split a 7″ Before S.O.H. Head to Japan

A trans-Pacific hardcore split pairs S.O.H.’s thrash-edged intensity with Abizmo’s noisier, fuzz-drenched attack, issued across a long list of independent labels.

The split 7″ continues to carry weight in 2026, and the reasons are structural: two bands, one record, nowhere to hide. The latest pairing comes from S.O.H. and Abizmo, released jointly through Shit Kicker, Metadona, Strong Mind, Delusion Of Terror, The Seats Of Piss, Venas Rotas Discos and Disco Infierno, with artwork by Dani O of Pure Terror. It also functions as a preview of S.O.H.’s forthcoming tour of Japan.

S.O.H.’s side leans on the band’s established balance of catchiness and force. “Echo Chamber” opens with a hectic intro, then moves into thrash-weighted riffing, sharp guitar leads and a rhythm section pushing hard. “Multo” starts from bass and drums before Kristine’s English and Tagalog lyrics circle over a heavy tupa-tupa beat.

Abizmo, from Aichi, work the noisier end of hardcore punk. “Sistema Quebrado” lands as a wall of fuzz and phased guitar, with vocals that crack and break under their own pressure, Portuguese lyrics cutting through the leads. “Vermes de Fardinha” toggles between speed and stomp, held together by rumbling drums and bass lines that carry as much melody as the guitars do.

Lopsided splits are a genuine risk. Here, neither side gives ground. For listeners who won’t make it to the Japanese dates, the record is the part of the tour that travels.
