Squid Pisser Announce New EP ‘Throat Slave’, Share ‘Tumors’

The shape-shifting noise-rock project Squid Pisser will release a new EP, Throat Slave, on August 28 via Skin Graft. Fronted by Tommy Meehan — who performs as Baxter Yogurt and currently inhabits the role of Grodius Maximus in GWAR — the band describes the five-song record as its most direct and lyrically personal work yet. A video for the closing A-side track, “Tumors,” arrived today.

The song tackles the slow recognition and excision of emotional vampires: people who manipulate, steal, and drain before rewriting the story to cast themselves as victims. Meehan’s lyrics frame it as a hard boundary, not a forgiveness arc. The EP’s B-side crowds that urgency with electronic remixes from Fartbarf, Hyper Gal, KK Null, and DJ Embryonic Petite Sac, each given no instruction beyond total reinterpretation.

Squid Pisser’s method has always leaned into absurdist visuals and grind-adjacent volatility, but Meehan insists none of it is calculated. “We’re here to be as honest as we can be,” he told Decibel. That honesty pulls the music toward a strange accessibility, even when it scrapes against convention. The EP’s core wound — learning to stop fixing people who refuse to break their own cycles — lands harder than any genre stance.
