Tom VR Sharpens the Club Focus on His Third Album

The London producer’s new record pairs restless momentum with the moments that stop it.

Tom VR’s new album title reads like a diagnosis: Don’t Know How Fast I’m Moving Until I Hit Something. Across the record, the London-based producer channels that restlessness into a more direct, dancefloor-focused sound.

The title track starts with dense, fragmented samples and synthetic textures pressing toward a peak. At its highest point, the kick drops away. Skittering percussion, warped vocals, and a longer melodic view take over. “My music reminds me of the idea of taking flight,” Tom VR says. But the album doesn’t only chase ascent; it also registers the crash.
