The husband-and-wife duo performed new single “Haunt Me” on Comedy Central, days after being dropped from Charley Crockett’s tour and then personally invited by Jack White to open his Los Angeles show.
Twin Temple’s late-night debut came with inverted crosses and a dose of gallows humor on Wednesday, as the duo performed the ’60s-style love song “Haunt Me” on The Daily Show. The track is the first taste of their new album, Doomed Lovers, out October 9. Alexandra and Zachary James delivered it in full crimson regalia, with stage props that left no ambiguity about their brand of self-proclaimed satanic doo-wop.
The appearance arrives just as the pair’s visibility has been sharpened by an abrupt tour ejection. Dropped days before a run with country singer Charley Crockett over their imagery, the duo discussed the fallout with host Jordan Klepper. “We were pretty shocked,” Zachary said. Alexandra, deadpan, reframed the moment: “I feel like it’s time for maybe a little more satanic panic—let’s get it going again.” The line landed, but it also underscored the friction that now defines their rising profile.
A direct invitation from Jack White followed the Crockett incident. Twin Temple have since slotted a September 29 show at the Hollywood Palladium supporting White alongside a run of new headlining dates. Those join previously announced appearances with Danzig, starting September 11 in San Antonio. The full itinerary stretches from Albuquerque on September 9 to Sacramento on October 8, threading a narrative of momentum built from a moment of exclusion.
