Walrus Audio Adds Lüm Texture Engine to Permanent Lineup

Walrus Audio is giving the Lüm Texture Engine a full production slot. Originally launched as a 600-unit limited run, the granular reverb pedal is now available in Guava Gloss and Matte Black finishes at $279.99.

The Lüm pulls its architecture from three existing Walrus designs: the reverb engine of the Slö Multi-Texture Reverb, the reverse-reverb character of the Lore, and the granular sound generation of the Fable. The result is three texture modes, a momentary switch, and three preset slots with smooth crossfade recall.

It is not positioned as a replacement for a standard reverb. Walrus bills it as a textural layer for players already working in ambient or post-rock territory, and the compact enclosure cuts power draw to 100mA, well below the Lore and Fable. The trade-offs are real: mono only, no MIDI, no expression input, and the smaller switches can feel cramped.

For a company that has built its identity around ambient guitarists, the Lüm’s shift from limited run to permanent catalog item signals confidence in that niche rather than a move toward utility.
