Thom Yorke Confirms New Solo Album for 2026

Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien has revealed that a new Thom Yorke solo record is completed and scheduled for release later this year.

Thom Yorke has completed a new solo album set for release in the latter part of 2026. The confirmation came not from an official announcement, but from his Radiohead bandmate Ed O’Brien during a recent interview.

O’Brien mentioned the project while discussing his own work, stating the record is finished and “coming out later in the year.” No further details regarding title, label, or sound were provided. This will be Yorke’s first proper solo album since 2019’s ‘Anima’, though he has released music in the interim with his side project The Smile alongside Jonny Greenwood.

The news points to another active year for Yorke, whose primary band has not released an album since 2016’s ‘A Moon Shaped Pool’. The confirmation, albeit indirect, sets an expectation for new material from one of modern music’s most consistently exploratory voices.
