Jack Black and Jack White Collaborate on SNL as ‘Jack Gray’

The two musicians, appearing together on Saturday Night Live, performed and acted in sketches during the episode.

Jack Black hosted Saturday Night Live this weekend, with Jack White as the musical guest. The pairing, humorously billed as Jack Gray, led to several collaborative moments beyond the standard performance slots.

White performed two songs from his new album, ‘No Name,’ during the show. The two Jacks also appeared together in sketches, including one where they played members of a Kansas tribute band performing “Carry On Wayward Son.” This was Black’s fifth time hosting the show. It was White’s sixth time as a musical guest, not counting his appearance at the SNL 50th anniversary special last year.

The episode leveraged the obvious novelty of their shared first name, but the collaboration provided a genuine crossover of comedic and musical energy for the live broadcast.
