Billy Gibbons Tours with Custom Gibson Explorer Built by CEO Cesar Gueikian

ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons is using a one-off Explorer, designated CEO#11, built for him by Gibson’s president and CEO Cesar Gueikian on the band’s current tour.

Gibson’s top executive has built a guitar for one of rock’s most recognizable players. ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons is currently using a custom Explorer on stage, built personally by Gibson President and CEO Cesar Gueikian.

The instrument, identified as CEO#11 on its truss rod cover, is an off-menu design featuring a two-piece figured maple top finished in Vintage Cherry Sunburst. Gueikian shared the news on social media, noting it was a pleasure to host Gibbons and see him take one of the CEO’s personal builds on tour.

While full specifications have not been released, the guitar joins Gibbons’s extensive collection of custom instruments. Its use on the band’s Elevation Tour underscores a direct link between the brand’s leadership and its legacy artists, moving a unique piece from the executive office to the stage.
