A new documentary film on the country artist, directed by Amy Scott, will premiere on Netflix this April.
Netflix will premiere a documentary film on country musician Lainey Wilson on April 22. Titled ‘Lainey Wilson: Keepin’ Country Cool’, the project is directed by Amy Scott, known for her music documentaries on Counting Crows and Sheryl Crow.
A trailer for the film highlights Wilson’s trajectory, framing her recent commercial breakthrough as the result of a 14 year effort. It includes archival footage from early performances and candid backstage moments, one showing the singer wearing a sign that reads “NOBODY SPEAK TO LAINEY.”
The documentary appears focused on the contrast between public success and private reality, a common thread in Scott’s directorial work. Its release follows Wilson’s major award wins over the past two years, cementing her place in the current country landscape.
