Tyler, The Creator Criticizes Leaked Security Footage

The artist addressed the online circulation of surveillance camera footage from a Mexico City bookstore, calling the behavior invasive.

Tyler, The Creator has publicly addressed the latest instance of leaked security footage involving him. The incident occurred in late March, when surveillance camera clips from Polilla Librería in Mexico City circulated online, showing the artist browsing while on tour.

Today, he posted to his Instagram Story to criticize the behavior. He called it annoying, stating that simply existing in public now risks having private moments uploaded for content or engagement. He expressed understanding for fan excitement but warned that this pattern is morphing into a culture where any footage of anyone is considered uploadable material.

The statement highlights a recurring tension between public life and digital privacy for artists. It points to a broader dynamic where surveillance tools and social media incentives combine to erase casual anonymity.
