Sonicware Debuts Deconstruct Minimal Groovebox at Superbooth 2026

A 10-track instrument built on drum machine drift, marking the Japanese brand’s move beyond its Liven series into structure-focused hardware.

Sonicware presented a new hardware groovebox at this year’s Superbooth in Berlin. The Deconstruct Minimal is a 10-track instrument built around the rhythmic and pitch instability of classic drum machines, designed specifically for stripped-down, hypnotic patterns. It marks the first release in a new series that the Japanese company says will sit alongside its established Liven line.

The Liven devices have always prioritized sound character—lo-fi textures, ambient washes, peculiar synthesis engines. With the Deconstruct range, Sonicware shifts focus to musical structure, analyzing and reconstructing patterns to push composition deeper. The Minimal model channels that idea through a minimalist lens, using drift and imperfection as compositional tools rather than sonic afterthoughts.

The company describes the groovebox as “built on the rhythmic and pitch drift of legendary drum machines,” hinting at a deliberate move away from rigid sequencing. For producers working in microhouse, minimal techno, or experimental electronics, that emphasis on unstable timing and pitch could offer a distinct tactile quality that fixed-grid sequencers lack.

No pricing or release date has been confirmed beyond the Superbooth appearance.
