Little Simz Debuts ‘Sugar Girl’ Tracks at Cross The Tracks 2026

The rapper’s Brockwell Park headline set introduced her electronically-inclined EP to a massive crowd on the festival’s sweltering final day.

South London’s Brockwell Park was packed and baking as Cross The Tracks 2026 came to a close with Little Simz headlining the main stage. Temperatures hit 30 degrees, but the crowd held strong through a day that moved from spiritual jazz to UKG, vintage soul to alt-R&B.

Early sets from SHOLTO and Wookie gave the festival its shape, while The Womack Sisters brought classic soul into the Locomotion tent. Scottish singer Brook Combe held the main stage before WAR’s soul-funk drew the park to its feet. Joy Crookes, backstage in her Arsenal top, delivered a resplendent set of velvet-touched R&B that felt like a tonic against the heat.

Little Simz’s last London show was at the O2 Arena, but here she faced a festival crowd that had been simmering all day. She used the moment to air material from her upcoming ‘Sugar Girl’ EP live for the first time. The electronic-leaning tracks were woven into a career-spanning set, delivered with a force that matched the weather.

The Islington rapper removed her jacket to reveal an Arsenal shirt, a nod to home turf. She closed with a pointed message, leaving the crowd with the words: “there is a war outside…” It landed less as a slogan and more as a lingering note after a set that brought new work into direct dialogue with a city audience.
