Wishy’s second album, recorded with co-producer Ben Lumsdaine in a tiny L.A. room, sharpens their dream pop instincts into a dozen precise tracks.
Wishy will release their second album, Nature’s Pill, on October 2nd. The Indianapolis group’s debut earned them attention for a gauzy, self-assured take on dream pop, and this follow-up was built under deliberately concentrated conditions: a tiny Los Angeles room with co-producer Ben Lumsdaine, who also worked on that first record.
The 12 songs were conceived as a single piece, with the band pushing their identity further rather than refining it away. The result, they say, is less a collection of tracks than one continuous statement—dream pop that leans into its own impulses without getting lost in haze.
Lead single “Lovesick” makes that approach plain. It’s a brisk, pop-conscious track with echoes of The Sundays and the more chart-visible side of The Cure, driven by a melody that doesn’t wait for permission. Vocalist Nina Pitchkites calls it a “cheeky ‘main character’ song” born from open-hearted overstatement. “There’s not much more that needs to be said about yearning in 2026, but here it is anyway,” she offers, framing the lyrics as a deliberate embrace of twee romanticism. The tracklist also includes “All The Rage,” “Covergirl,” and “Party World,” among others.
Nature’s Pill arrives at a moment when the band’s blend of sincerity and clarity feels earned rather than affected. The album will be out October 2nd.
