The move ends a period of uncertainty around official Dimebag instruments and centralizes future releases under the artist’s own estate.
The estate of Dimebag Darrell has announced the formation of Dime Guitarz, a new company positioned as the sole seller of licensed guitars bearing the late guitarist’s name and designs. The launch draws a clear line under years of shifting manufacturer relationships and gives the Darrell family direct control over how Dimebag’s instruments are produced and sold.
The move arrives after the long-running association with Dean Guitars ended, leaving a gap for fans seeking officially sanctioned models. By bringing licensing in-house, the estate bypasses the complications that have marked previous partnerships. Dime Guitarz is not a guitar manufacturer itself—at least not initially—but the exclusive commercial home for anything carrying the Dimebag name in the guitar market.
For a player whose visual and sonic identity was inseparable from his instrument, the launch carries more than retail logic. Dimebag’s ML-shaped Deans became metal shorthand, and the absence of a stable official source had left the market open to confusion. This new structure aims to resolve that, with the estate directly overseeing quality and design decisions. No specific models or production timelines have been shared yet, but the announcement signals an intent to make licensed Dimebag guitars reliably available again, under a structure built to last.
