The Goose frontman discussed his admiration for the Brooklyn band and its singer Cameron Winter in a recent interview, tracing their rise from a late-night TV surprise to a breakout year.
Goose frontman Rick Mitarotonda has made it clear: he’s a fan of Geese. Talking alongside the band’s June cover feature and their new album BIG MODERN!, he traced his introduction to the Brooklyn group back to a late-night TV appearance a few years ago. “We were like, ‘Who are these kids Geese playing on a late night show, from Brooklyn?’” he recalled. “Didn’t pay too much attention from there.”
What followed was a sharp shift in scale. “All of a sudden, obviously last year, it’s been massive what they’ve got going on,” Mitarotonda said. His interest now rests especially on singer Cameron Winter. “I’d love to meet Cameron. He seems like a really intelligent and interesting and creative guy, a really unique voice, and I’m excited to see where they go.”
The admiration arrives as Goose themselves navigate a growing spotlight, with BIG MODERN! marking a deliberate creative push. The nod is small but specific—less about scene-building than one bandleader clocking the clear arrival of another.
