Morley and DOD Combine Wah, Octave, and Fuzz in the WTF Pedal

Morley and DOD have introduced the Wah-OcTo-Fuzz, a collaborative pedal that crams wah, octave, and fuzz into a single Morley-format enclosure. Named with its combination in mind – WTF – the unit is built around Morley’s switchless electro-optical wah, a glow-in-the-dark treadle, and circuitry pulled from each company’s respective history.

The wah operates without a switch, engaging the moment the treadle moves. For the octave effect, DOD contributed its discontinued FX35 Octoplus circuit – a monophonic sub-octave known for glitchy, synth-like low end that acquired a cult following after production ended in 1994. Morley’s side brings the Power Fuzz, a ‘70s-inspired gain circuit with level and intensity controls. All three effects can be used separately or stacked, though the fuzz is notably thin when isolated.

The pedal is housed in a navy blue cold-rolled steel chassis, referencing classic DOD styling, and runs on 9V power with buffered bypass. The footswitches sit close together, a practical consideration for players who need precise control, but the arrangement is workable. At a time when effect collaborations often yield one-note experiments, the WTF aims squarely at utility, bundling three sonically distinct tools into a single heavy-duty stompbox.
