The band posted a brief statement on social media, then removed it. The departure continues a steady exit of original and longtime members.
Slipknot has ended its association with Sid Wilson, the turntablist known as #0 for nearly three decades. The confirmation came in a short social media post: “Effective immediately, Slipknot will no longer be associated with Sid Wilson. We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
The posts were deleted within about ten minutes — a pattern the band has followed with other personnel announcements recently.
TMZ reported Wilson’s removal two weeks ago, attributing it to how he treated his bandmates. Neither Slipknot nor Wilson commented at that time, though guitarist Jim Root wrote, “Don’t believe everything you read.”
Wilson, who also performs as DJ Starscream and with his own band SID, joins a growing list of departures. Original percussionist Chris Fehn, original keyboardist Craig Jones, and longtime drummer Jay Weinberg have all left in recent years.
In the days following the initial report, Kelly Osbourne — Wilson’s former fiancée and the mother of his child — posted a series of messages on Instagram referencing responsibility and healing, without naming him directly.
Slipknot’s last live show was at Inkcarceration 2025. No replacement for Wilson has been announced.
