Ella Langley’s ‘Choosin’ Texas’ Reaches 20 Weeks at No. 1, Now Second-Longest Hot 100 Reign

Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” has entered its 20th week atop the Billboard Hot 100, making it the second-longest-running No. 1 single in the chart’s history. Only Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” has held the top spot longer, with 22 weeks.

Released in October 2025, the track gave Langley her first Hot 100 No. 1 in February and gained steady momentum through the summer. It has stayed at No. 1 since July 4, marking the longest reign by a female country artist on the Hot 100.

Country music’s chart presence has been unusually concentrated this year. In early August, the genre held all top five positions: “Choosin’ Texas,” Morgan Wallen’s “Been By Now,” Taylor Swift’s “I Knew It, I Knew You,” the Wallen-Langley duet “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” and Stella Lefty’s “Boston.”

Langley released her sophomore album, Dandelion, in April through Sawgod/Columbia. Her tour continues this week with a September 10 stop at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. At an Alabama date on the run, she covered Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” as a tribute.
