The band’s latest single arrives after a Bermondsey pop-up, a Wembley headline before a debut album, and a torn ACL—each step seemingly out of order, yet working.
Fat Dog have built a short career on refusing to follow the expected sequence. Their latest single, “Call It What You Want,” arrives after a run of choices that look chaotic on paper but have landed with unusual consistency.
The song follows Woofstock, the Bermondsey pop-up show that suggests the band treats its own momentum as something to bend rather than obey. Before that came a Wembley Arena headline slot—before a debut album, a reversal of the usual first-album-then-big-room logic. Arthur Hill also covered George Michael against the advice of his own team, and played through a torn ACL.
Now Fat Dog take the biggest stage Reading & Leeds has. None of it follows the standard trajectory, but the pattern is the point. “Call It What You Want” doesn’t need to resolve that tension; it extends it. The band keeps doing things in the wrong order, and the results have stopped looking like accidents.
