Jelly Roll Dropped From Mar-a-Lago Police Fundraiser After Kimmel Remarks

Jelly Roll will not perform at the Big Blue Bash, an annual Mar-a-Lago fundraiser for the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Foundation. The invitation was withdrawn after the country singer made jokes at Donald Trump’s expense while guest-hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live! last month.

Kyle S. Reyes, owner of The Police Tribune and an event organizer, announced the decision on X. He described Jelly Roll as a “self-absorbed ‘artist’ bashing President Trump and Conservatives” and said an invitation had been sent on April 26, though it remains unclear whether the musician ever accepted it. Reyes added he was “formally withdrawing the invitation for Jelly Roll” and would book country singer Coffey Anderson instead.

The event, themed “American Superheroes,” still lists Lou Ferrigno, Dean Cain, and Kevin Sorbo among confirmed participants. On Kimmel, Jelly Roll’s jokes touched on Trump’s weight and the economy. But on his final night, he shifted toward a bipartisan message: “Human dignity isn’t Republican nor Democrat. Compassion isn’t left-wing, and mercy isn’t right-wing.”

The withdrawal reframes the performance as a political flashpoint rather than a standard booking. Anderson now gets the slot at a fundraiser built around law enforcement families.
