ABC calls the Page Six claim inaccurate as Kimmel returns with new episodes under year-to-year contracts.
ABC has denied a Page Six report claiming Jimmy Kimmel Live! will end in 2027. A network spokesperson called the information inaccurate, adding that any reports about the show’s future at this point are purely speculative.
The denial arrives ahead of Kimmel’s return from his annual summer break; new episodes begin Tuesday night. Kimmel has hosted the show for 22 years, but his recent ABC deals have been year-to-year, leaving the program’s trajectory less fixed than its on-air presence might suggest.
Kimmel has been open about reconsidering his role. During a recent appearance on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, he said, “I’m never going to stop doing things. It’s just a different scenario.”
The network statement keeps Jimmy Kimmel Live! in place for now, though the year-to-year rhythm and Kimmel’s own comments will likely keep questions about the show’s future circulating.
