AZ Chike Drops No Rest for the Wicked

AZ Chike has released No Rest for the Wicked, his first project since appearing on Kendrick Lamar’s GNX. The South Central rapper, who has referred to himself as the “best feature” on that album, steps away from the much-discussed “peekaboo” verse and into a full-length built around his own material. The record is out now.

The 14-track project includes R&B singer JMSN and two appearances from Tyler, the Creator, including the single “Look Like My Mama.” Production comes from Pharrell, Hit-Boy, Sounwave, Terrace Martin, and Tyler. That combination pulls the album beyond a single regional rap lane and reflects the broader circle Chike has been moving through since the Kendrick feature.

Chike will begin his first solo headlining tour in early October. The album establishes his name outside the Kendrick Lamar orbit while the timing and guests keep that connection visible. For an artist whose recent visibility arrived through one verse, No Rest for the Wicked is a test of whether that attention can hold across a full-length.
