A Billboard report says Iceman, Habibti and Maid of Honour will be left out of the awards process, extending a long ambivalence toward the Grammys that now overlaps with Drake’s litigation against UMG.
Drake will not submit his three recent albums — Iceman, Habibti and Maid of Honour — for Grammy consideration, according to a report from Billboard. The projects are his first solo releases since the 2024 rap feud with Kendrick Lamar, and they held steady on the charts through the summer.
He left little ambiguity about the choice. On Iceman’s closing track, “Make Them Know,” Drake raps: “This album, I’m never submittin’ it.”
Iceman alone gave the Academy something to ignore. It broke Drake’s own record for the longest run at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, passing the 12 weeks logged by Take Care.
The abstention fits a longer pattern. Drake declined to submit More Life in 2018, withdrew
