FKA twigs has dropped her lawsuit against Shia LaBeouf after he agreed to void a non-disclosure agreement that restricted her from discussing alleged sexual abuse. The agreement to lift the NDA is the substance of the outcome. The legal claim ends, and so does the clause that made speaking about it a risk.
NDAs are routine instruments in entertainment contracts, and they are seldom drafted with the person signing them in mind. When they cover allegations of abuse, they stop working as privacy tools and start working as silence. Voiding one does not establish what happened or settle who was wrong. It removes a restriction. Here, that restriction was the reason the dispute could not be discussed in public at all.
