Undeath have joined Relapse Records and issued their first new track for the label, with a full-length follow-up to 2024’s More Insane now set for 2027.
Undeath have signed to Relapse Records and marked the move with a new song, “Arterial Bombardment.” It is the band’s first release for the label and their first new music since 2024’s More Insane; a full-length follow-up is planned for 2027.
The signing places the Rochester band on a roster long associated with extreme music, and the track does not soften the transition. Frontperson Alex Sason described it as a deliberate opening statement, saying the band “knew we had to come out swinging” and calling the song “an excellent appetizer” for what follows. Bassist Tommy Wall wrote it, with Colin Marston handling engineering, mixing and mastering.
Relapse is not a neutral home for a band with Undeath’s live reputation, and the timing matters. The group is currently on an extensive European run supporting Suffocation, with headline dates of their own scheduled around it. They will close the year in New York at Saint Vitus, sharing bills with labelmates Pig Destroyer.
That combination of touring, a new label and a two-year gap since the last record makes “Arterial Bombardment” less a standalone single than a marker of where the band intends to push next. The 2027 album will be the real test of whether the momentum holds.
