Gotts Street Park Release ‘Somewhere Between’ and Confirm UK Tour

The Leeds group’s new album brings its collaborators into its own catalogue, with Celeste, Rosie Lowe and anaiis among the guests. A UK headline tour follows, including London’s Roundhouse on November 25.

Gotts Street Park have released ‘Somewhere Between’, an 11-track record that draws on both sides of the Leeds group’s reputation: as instrumentalists and producers in demand across British soul and R&B, and as a band with a catalogue of its own.

The guest list reflects that standing. Celeste, Rosie Lowe and anaiis appear on the album, alongside the songwriter Matt Maltese and Sofia and the Antoinettes. For a group whose production work has made them dependable partners for other artists, folding that network into their own material is a way of bringing the two roles into the same room.

The band describe the record as still grounded in soul and jazz, with newer influences woven through it, and trace part of that instinct back to the hip-hop they grew up hearing. In their account, ‘Somewhere Between’ is where they come together, the studio being the place where separate worlds are bridged. They add that they are not big on concepts, preferring to let the music flow, and that releasing the album means letting go of whatever it comes to mean to listeners.

A UK headline tour follows, including a night at London’s Roundhouse on November 25.
