The post-hardcore band has released a new studio session in celebration of their 25-year run.
A Static Lullaby have shared a studio performance marking their 25th anniversary. The video, which arrived online without much fanfare, features the band playing through material that spans their catalog. It’s a quiet milestone for a group whose early 2000s output helped define a particular corner of post-hardcore.
The Chino Hills band formed in 2001, releasing a string of records through Ferret Music and later major label imprints. They were never the scene’s loudest name, but songs from albums like …And Don’t Forget to Breathe and Faso Latido have held weight with listeners who came up during that era. After a hiatus in 2012 and sporadic returns, this anniversary set feels less like a comeback and more like a direct transmission to the people who stuck around.
There’s no press cycle around it, no new album in tow. Just the performance, stripped of any grand narrative. That restraint is fitting for a band that always sat slightly outside the genre’s commercial peak. You can watch it now, wherever you get your news from the heavy music world.
