Aphex Twin’s Drukqs to Be Reissued on Vinyl, CD, and Cassette

Warp Records is bringing Aphex Twin’s 2001 album Drukqs back into physical circulation for its 25th anniversary. The reissue lands on 30 October across vinyl, CD, and cassette — the first time in years the double-album will be widely available in hard formats.

The 30-track record, long a touchstone for Richard D. James’s blend of hyper-detailed drill ’n’ bass and prepared-piano melancholy, will appear in a standard 4LP edition and a boxed 4LP set. The box adds a six-panel poster and an AFX logo stencil. A 2CD version and a double-cassette are also confirmed. Highlights such as “Vordhosbn,” “Avril 14th,” “Mt Saint Michel + Saint Michaels Mount,” and “QKThr” remain the obvious pull, though the album’s sprawl rewards deeper digging.

Pre-orders for the boxed vinyl edition close on 4 August. At a moment when physical editions of canonical electronic works are being treated less like novelties and more like essential documents, this Drukqs run arrives without anniversary bloat — just the music, remastered and pressed again, on the formats it was never fully given in the first place.
