Beyoncé has opened pre-orders for the Bey Keeper Collector’s Box, a handcrafted solid-pine crate priced at $948.01. The figure refers to her birthdate, September 4, 1981, and the drop is tied to her 45th birthday and the 20th anniversary of B’Day. But the object contains no records.
Limited to 500 individually numbered units, the crate is treated with beeswax oil and lined in deep green velvet. Custom engravings, gold hardware, and a faux gator-skin leather strap complete the beekeeper-inspired design. With shipping and taxes, the final total can exceed $1,100, despite the fact that buyers receive only storage space.
The release has drawn sharp reactions online, with fans pointing out the gap between the luxury presentation and the absence of any physical music. The critique is less about the anniversary itself than about what the price actually buys: a pine box positioned as a collector’s item while the records remain separate.
