Billy Talent and Joyce Manor Join Slam Dunk Festival 2027 Line-Up

Slam Dunk has added Billy Talent, Joyce Manor, Amira Elfeky and Forever The Sickest Kids to its 2027 bill, a set of names that says plenty about how the festival now balances legacy and newer intake.

Festival line-ups are rarely announced whole. They arrive in instalments, and the second and third waves tend to be more revealing than the first, because by then the booking logic is visible. Slam Dunk’s latest additions for 2027 do that job: Billy Talent, Joyce Manor, Amira Elfeky and Forever The Sickest Kids are now confirmed for the festival.

Billy Talent are the connective tissue here. The Canadian band also appear on Rock for People’s 2027 bill, where they sit alongside Faith No More, blink-182, Architects and Killswitch Engage. That overlap is worth noting, not because it signals anything dramatic, but because it shows where the demand for guitar-driven booking currently sits in Europe. The same names are circulating across multiple large bills rather than being exclusive to any one of them.

The rest of the Slam Dunk additions point in different directions. Joyce Manor have spent well over a decade building a catalogue that resists the size of the rooms they now play. Amira Elfeky represents the newer end of the booking. Forever The Sickest Kids carry a mid-2000s pop-punk association that the festival circuit has continued to treat as a live proposition rather than a nostalgia footnote.

Put together, the four names show a festival hedging its identity rather than settling on one. Slam Dunk has always traded on that tension between era and audience. The 2027 bill, at least in this instalment, is content to keep it running.
