System of a Down and Faith No More Set One-Off Maracanã Show for January 2027

The Rio date adds a stadium stop to the bands’ early 2027 reunion run and gives Faith No More its first live appearance since 2016.

System of a Down and Faith No More will share the bill at Rio de Janeiro’s Maracanã Stadium on January 15, 2027. Billed as “One Night Only,” the concert extends the previously announced joint run in Australia and New Zealand, which continues through February 7 with dates in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Wellington.

The Rio stop carries different weight for each band. For Faith No More, it is currently set to be the group’s first live performance since 2016. The Mike Patton-led band last played Brazil in September 2015, with appearances in São Paulo and at Rock in Rio.

System of a Down’s return is more recent. Less than two years after the “Wake Up! South America Stadium Tour,” which drew 500,000 attendees across nine shows in 2025 according to promoter 30e, the band returns to a market that has consistently supported the run. Five of those dates were in Brazil.

The Maracanã show follows global deals both bands signed with 30e. Tickets go on general sale August 21 through Eventim, with Itaú presales beginning August 19.
