The independent festival returns to its Columbus birthplace with a May 2026 lineup featuring Kygo, GRiZ, REZZ, and Disco Lines.
Breakaway Music Festival has confirmed its 2026 Ohio lineup, scheduling its return to Columbus for May 29 and 30. The bill, led by Kygo, GRiZ, REZZ, and Disco Lines, marks the 13th edition of an event that began in the city and has since expanded to multiple U.S. markets.
The announcement underscores the festival’s positioning as a growing independent operation with a specific anchor in its original location. While Breakaway now hosts events in cities like Nashville, Kansas City, and Charlotte, the Ohio iteration continues to function as a flagship, balancing mainstream electronic appeal with a curated selection of live and dance acts.
This year’s lineup reflects a deliberate cross section of contemporary electronic music. Kygo represents the enduring commercial reach of tropical house, while GRiZ’s inclusion, following his 2023 retirement announcement from touring, signals a notable live return. REZZ anchors the darker, mid-tempo bass sphere, and Disco Lines continues the festival’s consistent booking of current house trends. The full roster includes additional acts like J. Worra, Hamdi, and Azzecca.
The festival’s growth from a local Columbus event into a multi city brand illustrates a specific model within the U.S. festival landscape, one focused on scalable, city centric weekend formats rather than massive, remote camping experiences. Its continued investment in the Ohio event, even as it expands, suggests a strategy of maintaining a core identity and loyal audience base in its birthplace.
Breakaway Ohio 2026 will take place at Historic Crew Stadium. The festival has operated at the soccer venue since 2021, utilizing its infrastructure for a downtown adjacent event. General admission and VIP tickets are on sale now.
