BUCKET Releases ‘Mosaic’ EP

The Dublin noise rock trio’s second EP arrived this week, recorded with producer James Eager and centered on lyrics about extreme psychological states.

Dublin trio BUCKET have put out their second EP, Mosaic, a four-track set that moves the band’s noise rock further into electronic territory without giving up any of its brute force. It follows last year’s MUCK, a debut built largely on the disorienting energy of their live shows. For the new recording, the group returned to producer James Eager, tracking at Transmission Rooms Studio in Longford and Camden Studios in Dublin.

The songs draw a tighter line between breakbeat chaos and guitar-driven bedlam. Vocalist Cian Dahdouh described the lyrics as “interior monologues from fictional narrators dealing with extreme psychological states,” a frame that gives the noise a narrative spine without making it theatrical. The band’s stage reputation keeps the pressure on, but here they sound concentrated rather than simply loud.

Electronics on Mosaic aren’t layered on for texture; they push the structure forward, especially in the moments where the tempo fractures and the guitars pull back. The result is a record that feels less like a statement of intent and more like a band working out exactly what they want. BUCKET have tightened their approach, and it shows.
