BUCKET Will Press Their Two EPs to Vinyl Through Dinked’s Early Doors Series

BUCKET will put their music on vinyl for the first time. The Dublin trio are collecting their two EPs onto a limited 12 inch, pressed in red and black marble, as part of Dinked’s Early Doors series. The release takes its name from the two records it gathers: Muck and Mosaic.

Two EPs have become the standard way for a guitar band to introduce itself, which makes the decision to press them together more than a formatting exercise. Gathered on one record, the pair reads as a single body of work rather than two early statements. The Early Doors series, built around limited runs for independent shops, gives the release a route that streaming does not offer.

The band’s new single sits apart from that. It deals with the conflicting pride and shame they feel around modern Irish identity, a subject that carries a particular charge in Ireland at the moment, where questions of nationhood tend to be argued over rather than assumed.

Set against that, the object itself is not neutral. A record pressed in limited quantity for a specific series carries its own cultural weight, and where Irish music has often exported a version of the country built for elsewhere, BUCKET are working both sides of the question at once.
