The band cancels its scheduled performance at the French festival after an accident, halting its planned run through Sepultura’s Chaos AD.
Cavalera Conspiracy has pulled out of this year’s Hellfest after a bus crash, the band confirmed. The incident leaves a scheduled performance of Sepultura’s Chaos AD in full off the festival’s lineup.
The group was due to bring that set to the French event, part of a broader tour that revisits the 1993 album. In a statement shared after the accident, the band said: “The band is devastated to not be able to bring Chaos AD to this great festival and to the French fans.”
No further details about the crash, including when or where it occurred, have been released at this time. Hellfest, set to run across multiple stages in Clisson, has not yet announced a replacement for the slot.
Cavalera Conspiracy, led by brothers Max and Iggor Cavalera, has spent recent years performing classic Sepultura records from the era the two originally anchored. The Chaos AD shows, like their earlier Roots and Beneath the Remains tours, have drawn sharp interest for their direct link to a pivotal period in extreme metal. The cancellation cuts one of those rare archive-focused appearances from a major festival bill.
